Intersurgical sponsor 2019 Innovation in Anaesthesia Award

The annual award presented by the AAGBI was won by the developers of an online preoperative assessment programme.

Presented at the AAGBI's Winter Scientific Meeting in London recently, the awards recognise innovation in anaesthesia and provide a springboard for new ideas.

The winner was Dr Paul Upton for his development of MyPreOp, an online system that allows patients to set up their own account and decide what personal assessment information they share with healthcare providers. Clinicians do not have access to these records, which empowers patients with the management of their care.

Speaking to the AAGBI, Dr Upton said: "I'm stunned to have won. It came as a great surprise. As a team we see this win as an opportunity to get MyPreOp rolled out across the NHS."

Congratulations to Dr Upton and his team.

Intersurgical 2020 Photo Calendar Competition … You decide!

We want you to decide the theme of our Photo Calendar Competition for next year. Email us your idea!
For the past two years we have been running a competition for customers encouraging them to send in photographs to feature in our lovely desk calendar for customers.

For our first calendar in 2018, we encouraged customers to send in photographs of scenic ‘Hidden Gems’ in the locality of their hospital. The following year, the theme was ‘Go wild at work!’ where we asked customers to seek out the local wildlife to snap.

Now, for our 2020 calendar, we want you to decide the theme. The person who comes up with the most creative and winning idea will receive a FREE Intersurgical goody bag!

You can share your idea with us on social media, via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Alternatively click here to email your idea.

Our 2020 Photo Calendar Competition theme will be announced on our website on Monday 4th March. We look forward to receiving your ideas.

Our 2020 Photo Calendar Theme is …

A Breath of Fresh Air!
Suggested by Nicola Long from Queens Hospital, Burton-on-Trent, we think ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ is the perfect theme for our Calendar Competition this year. Well done Nicola, an Intersurgical goody bag is on its way to you.

Thank you to everyone who sent in a suggestion! We will be launching our Photo Calendar Competition at the end of the month, so keep your eye on our website and social media pages for full details.

2019 Photo Calendar – January’s winning entry!

Andrew Burns from The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group takes January’s spot in our 2019 photo calendar for customers.
The theme of our calendar competition was ‘Go wild at work’, encouraging customers to send in photographs of wildlife taken in the locality of their hospital. Andrew captured this stunning owl in Heaton Park, Blackley and we thought it was a perfect fit for the wintery month of January.
